I have been terribly undisciplined lately, so I’m trying to get back into having weekly features. Slowly but surely, I’ll get there.
To get myself back on track, I wanted to re-introduce Music Monday back to my blog. In anticipation of an upcoming concert that I’m going to this Saturday, I thought I would share the music of an amazing singer. Within a few bars of any one of his songs, I guarantee you’ll fall in love.
Meet Bruno Major.

This British sweetheart has a voice that can only be described as intoxicating. It’s soft and sweet, creating a calm vibe throughout his music. At the same time, his voice is also powerful where it needs to be. The instrumentation of his music is also simple and elegant, allowing his voice – which is the star of the show, let’s be real – to shine through.
But if you listen extra close, you’ll experience Bruno Major’s lyrics. Simple, raw, and powerful, his lyrics are beautiful examples of poetry that evokes all sorts of emotion.
His 2017 album, A Song for Every Moon, is a brilliant masterpiece that encompasses all of the things that I mentioned above. Here are my top 5 favorite songs from this album – believe me, choosing a top 5 was no easy feat, as the entire album is perfection:
This is one of the first songs that I heard by Bruno Major, all thanks to Spotify’s New Music playlist. The guitar in this song makes it, and when he shows off those high notes? It’s all over.
“I don’t need to build a house of stone / Wherever you are is where I call home.”
There is a slow, funky groove to this song that makes it incredibly catchy. I’m going to put my cards on the table right now: if you want to slow dance with me, let’s dance to this song. Also, epic guitar solo.
“Just because it won’t come easily / Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try.”
This is a beautiful love song that wows in terms of vocals. The background vocals as well as the stripped down instrumentation creates an R&B vibe, and take note of all the emotion! In such a short amount of time, there are so many feels.
“My fair-weather friend / I wish you could see / He’ll never love you quite like me.”
Just The Same
I love the piano intro to this song. The chord progressions, background vocals, and stripped down instrumentation creates a dark and yet soul-filled song. The lyrics in this song are incredibly sad and yet, probably my favourite ones in the entire album.
“In the heat of the moment / Call someone else’s name / But I will love you just the same.”
This song makes me think of the perfect summer night, and probably would make an excellent soundtrack for it too. There is another amazing guitar solo in this song, and the lyrics are so simple and innocent. Definitely a must listen!
“I was dangerously tangled / Second time I met you.”
I’m looking forward to the concert on February 17 in Vancouver – Bruno Major, I’m coming for ya!
